I have just read a very interesting article from my teacher Frans Steine, putting a question on the true resting place of Mikao Usui. Mount Hiei is just outside Kyoto, and is a Tendai mountain, Mikao Usui was a Tendai buddhist, so it would make sense that he was laid to rest with his family on a Tendai mountain. Frans also stated that the gravesite in Tokyo could have been put there by the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai for people to visit as in a pilgrimage, and the one on Mount Hiei is a more personal family grave without any reference to him. Apparently it’s not uncommon to have different graves sites in Japan, ashes or bones can be divided and put in different areas!
